Tarina

:-o

"Our imagination is stretched to the utmost, not, as in fiction, to imagine things which are not really there, but just to comprehend those things which are there." -- Richard Feynman (Jos et tiedä kenestä on kyse, mene heti kirjastoon!)

"I guess I could be pretty pissed off about what happened to me. But it's hard to stay mad when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once and it's too much. My heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst. And then I remember to relax, and not try to hold on to it. And then it flows through me like rain. And I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life. You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. Don't worry, you will someday." -- American Beauty, the movie

Jäi mieleen heti, kun leffan näin. Mitäs itse tuumaat ajatuksesta?

"The Universe is a big place populated by stars and thoroughly confused humans." -- Avi Abrams

Many angles and levels here depending on the reader.
(And then there is EVE Online.)

"I have no idea, but what is knowable in a universe where entropy grips us in a fatal dance of nihilistic despair?" -- [You should know who... I know, it's a tough one.]

"The world is not yet exhausted; let me see something tomorrow which I never saw before." -- Samuel Johnson (1709 - 1784)

So true.

"The world is not yet exhausted; let me *nom* something tomorrow which I never gobbled up like a gofer on pot-munchies before!" -- Me. (1974 - 9999? (The party that finally turn out to be my demise..?))

You into food and cooking? Einexet suk? Experiments gone awfully wrong can lead to good learning experiences? And when you win you shine? :)

"Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else." -- Unknown?

"Time is precious, but truth is more precious than time." -- Benjamin Disraeli [Hmm. What?]

"Does identity matter anyway? I have my doubts. We are what we do, not what we think. Only the interactions count (there is no problem with free will here; that's not incompatible with believing your actions define you). And what is free will anyway? Chance. The random factor. If one is not ultimately predictable, then of course that's all it can be. I get so frustrated with people who can't see this! Even a human should be able to understand it's obvious. The result is what matters, not how it's achieved (unless, of course, the process of achieving is itself a series of results). What difference does it make whether a mind's made up of enormous, squidgy, animal cells working at the speed of sound (in air!), or from a glittering nanofoam of reflectors and patterns of holographic coherence, at lightspeed? (Let's not even think about a Mind mind.) Each is a machine, each is an organism, each fulfils the same task. Just matter, switching energy of one sort or another. Switches. Memory. The random element that is chance and that is called choice: common denominators, all. I say again; you is what you done. Dynamic (mis)behaviourism, that's my creed." -- A certain intriguing personality in a book by Iain M Banks

Oh, and do yourself a really good favour and read all the Discworld novels by Terry Pratchett! :)

Tai jotain....
